Email marketing

Lists, subscribers and campaigns.

With Email marketing in your plan, the Marketing section lets you collect subscribers in lists and send them campaigns.

Lists

A list holds subscribers. Each list has a unique list ID, which signup forms use to add people to it (see the Marketing API).

  • Add subscribers by hand, import them from a CSV or Excel file, or collect them through signup forms.
  • Export a list's subscribers as CSV or Excel.
  • An inactive list doesn't accept new subscribers.
  • Deleting a list deletes every subscriber in it.

Campaigns

A campaign is one email to one list.

  1. Give it an internal name and choose the list.
  2. Write the subject, and optionally a reply-to address.
  3. Add the body as HTML, with an optional plain-text version for email clients that don't show HTML.

Before sending, test how your HTML looks in different email clients, and include an unsubscribe link (the unsubscribe endpoint handles it).
